Welcome to My Joyful journey.

Welcome to the first installment of My Joyful Journey.  I am a wife, mom, and educator living in Sweden.  I decided to start writing about this journey, as I would like to support myself and others in similar situations.

I have been a special educator for over 20 years.  I teach and support students with some type of learning or language difficulty.  My role as a special educator in The United States, to a special educator in Sweden, has not been without its challenges.  Learning a new language, teaching in the language and eventually getting my teaching license abroad has been a valuable addition to my life.  After living in Sweden for over 8 years now, I finally feel that I am at home in my new country.

My immediate family consists of my husband and son.  We are active, as most Swedish families are, with our jobs, the different sports activities, school activities and being with friends and family.  This is often challenging as well.  Who is picking up our son?  What activities does he/we have today?  What do I have today? etc.  As joyful as life can be, it can also be, at times, too much.  Finding a balance in my life, a healthy way to manage choices, and how to keep up the energy level is what this Joyful Journey is all about.

Last year, we added yet another path – a journey to good health.  We had to alter our lifestyle to involve gluten-free and even low-carb food choices.  It has been relatively smooth, our house is filled with new ingredients, products, and recipes to have in our household.

My goal, as a wife, mother, and educator, is to help and support others to start their personal journey positively and as smoothly as possible.

Future installments to come soon,

Thank you for stopping by to read.  Feel free to comment or ask questions.
